Early Performances

TOPLAP

Amy was an early member of TOPLAP, a live performance ensemble and international online discussion group specifically focused on the emerging activity of livecoding. Livecoding involves writing and/or modifying custom audiovisual performance software as an integral part of the performance. Computer code is projected live as it is being written, generally with a performative component to the code-writing itself.

Extreme Whitespace (2003)

From the geek who brought you The Typewriter – more performance typing! (Actually this one was first.) Here, VJ Übergeek performs a Linux terminal as a VJ tool at the Read_Me festival in Helsinki, 2003. The music is generated from the computer’s system beep.
